Rogers Returns Old Or New?
Old Or New?
The Golden age of Rogers amplifiers is, arbitrarily, the mid-1950s to the late-1960s. Among the gems that made Rogers one of the leading British valve amplifier manufacturers were the various Cadets, including the Mk Ill integrated amp, which was in production from 1964 to 1970 [pictured], and the HG88 MK Ill integrated valve amp (1965-1969).
The distinctive features of these classics? All Rogers amplifiers of the era were beautifully built, comprehensively equipped and very reasonably priced. I don't know how to break it to you people, but the last price for a Cadet Mk Ill was only £32. Today's price for a secondhand specimen which is in good condition? Three times that.
