Métronome DSS 2/DSC mini streamer and outboard DAC The mconnection
Thanks to the implementation of mconnect’s hardware and app, Métronome’s DSS 2 really couldn’t be much simpler to use – on initial switch-on, the transport will find the user’s home network and connect to it. Wired Ethernet is best, especially if you’re planning on playing hi-res content, although there is provision for Wi-Fi if required. And that’s really all there is to it! The mconnect ‘browser’ screen allows all the possible sources to be accessed, from UPnP/DLNA shares on your local network to streaming services, while the ‘Play to’ button [bottom right of screenshot] allows the selection of the DSC mini or any other suitable DAC you may have.

The mconnect platform indexes music libraries swiftly – even massive ones – and offers easy switching between the different digital ‘sources’, setting up of favourites and playlists, and searching services like Tidal and Qobuz (subject to subscriptions). It’s very simple and frill-free – and suits the Métronome approach perfectly.
